Just some finished pics of the interior. getting it ready to go into storage for the year. looks to be some engine problems. will find out more this spring.

Found the engine culprit. broken rod...broken engine..getting a 81 cj7 laredo for parts. has the same 258 engine plus has power steering and power brakes. will be able to upgrade a few things in the process.

2-27-05

have the 81 cj7 now. runs quite rough but runs strong with good oil pressure. have new gaskets and seals already. pulled the body off of the 82 cj7. pulled everything off at this point the frame is almost ready for POR-15. need to clean up a little more grease and some more rust. got lots of work done this weekend. after the frame is done we get to start bolting things back on. have a 4" rough country lift kit that came with all new springs and shocks and lots of other fun stuff. more pictures to come.

3-13-05

Axles cleaned and painted. oil drained from axle. rear axle has new seal. frame cleaned up some more. still waiting on rear crossmember, old one already cut off. new one to be welded on and then we will POR-15 the frame. stainless steel brake lines ordered. clutch linkage, mounts and misc bushings on order. should be POR-15ing the frame next weekend with luck.

3-27-05

No work done last weekend due to lots of snow. We got the frame all prepped and POR-15'd. got the axles, leaf springs and shackles all mounted. mounted rear shocks. started to mount brake lines (stainless steel). next weeknd should be pulling the engine out of rusty and getting that ready to mount into the 82. pulled misc parts off of rusty to get it ready to be junked after the engine is pulled.

4-3-05

Ripped rusty pretty much all apart. got the engine out of it. got the shock mounts, engine mounts and tranny skidplate all cleaned and por 15'd and mounted. mounted swaybar and links. mounted brake lines and fuel lines from front to back. will work on cleanin the engine and putting in new gaskets and its ready to put into the jeep. tranny and transfer case cleaned up. new seals and gaskets ordered for the transfercase. will be installing a new clutch. paint up transfercase after new seals and gaskets and will be installed.

5-1-05

Last couple of weeks we have been cleaning and painting parts. finally got an engine without cracked pistons and such. got new seals put into it and a new timing chain. got an aluminum valve cover on order. got the motor and tranny all put into the frame. engine sits at an angle with the transfer case drop. might look into a rear cv driveshaft. transfer case cleaned and painted with new seals and gaskets. hopefully this coming weekend will finish up with the chassis and drivetrain.

5-15-05

Tim had to weld in 3 patch panels where rust had eaten thru. got the body back onto the frame. new aluminum valve cover on motor. lined the bottom of body with 2 coats of bedliner. interior got 3 coats. 5 coats in the front where there will be higher traffic. started putting vents back in. have to find proper blower motor to fit. all the ones that are at the auto stores are not the right ones. luckily its starting to look like a jeep again.

9-10-05

Got some more work done this weekend. got the intake and exhaust manifolds mounted. carb rebuilt and mounted. got some exhaust mounted. engine wiring harness cleaned up and installed. cleaned and painted inside of driver side fender. next weekend should finish with the clutch linkage and install the driver side fender. only other big project is the roll bars. other then that it should be fired up and see if it runs.

3-3-06

well there has been a lack of real progress on the jeep as of late since i got a new job and new house. as you can see we have gotten some more things mounted and added the dual stick kit to the Dana 300 transfer case. had to remove a small chunk of floor to make it fit proper. also things have gotten cleaned up a bit. will be able to drive it this summer looks like.
